Weekend in Sacramento (Selland’s, etc)
If you know Sacramento, you know Sellands: Obo, Selland’s Market, The Kitchen, Ella. We were introduced to Sellands by our good friend in Sacramento and the love affair has never died. As a testament to our loyalty, we spent just about all our food dollars at Sellands this weekend.
- Selland’s Market-Cafe East Sacramento, 5340 H St
- OBO’ Italian Table & Bar, 3145 Folsom Blvd
- The Kitchen Restaurant, 2225 Hurley Way. See our review here
- Selland’s Market CafĂ© on Broadway, 915 Broadway. Mr A had to come back for the cheesecake bar. I had to come back for the pizza (Margherita)
We also enjoyed a few other choice Sacto locales:
- Jungle Bird Tiki Bar. You know you’re old when you start tripping on things in Tiki Bars. And using your phone flashlight to illuminate the bench seating.
- Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates (and Bakery). I was only able to capture the cinnamon roll mid-cut, the rest got away from me. And this was the morning after our debauchery at The Kitchen!! Restraint is not our middle name
- Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters. We are ALL about the toast. This was toast plus olive oil and Dukkah, an Egyptian spice mix. And their Macchiato was also very very good. Toast and coffee, the perfect breakfast
- Faria Bakery. We are crazy for bread bakeries and Faria did not disappoint. While we could not indulge in an entire loaf, their Croissant and Pain au Chocolat were very good. I mean you can’t go all afternoon without a snack.
