Galapagos dreams

Check out this itinerary for the Galapagos (and Machu Pichu). After seeing the ocean going, seawater-snorting marine Iguanas on TV, we have to see them in person. I don’t know why, I just do. I like the offbeat destinations like this or Easter Island.

And of all the ways to visit, I am definitely interested in the new Celebrity Flora. No more roughing it for this girl. And as long as you are in South America you’ve got to also visit Machu Pichu (says Mr A).

Ecuador has a fairly high Vax rate (over 100 vaccinations per 100 people, 56pct fully vaxxed, about the same as the US) but Peru does not (29pct fully vaxed). Hmm. We have been talking about having to bite the bullet and travel even with some Covid risk… Or risk never getting there at all. Egypt (another destination we have been reaching for) is also in this category. There will never be a “great” time to go to Egypt so waiting for some illusory “perfect” window is a fools errand. You just have to go when you can stomach the risk…

They mentioned that October is the peak of the breeding season in the Galapagos. Could be an interesting Fall 2022 trip!
