Locks Cruise (Seattle)
Shout out for the Argosy Locks Cruise in Seattle! The day we went the tide was extremely low so the rise in the Lock was more than 20 feet. There was only room for the tour boat in the small lock – 6inch clearance on either side. I guess locks have become much more interesting to us since we started watching Travels by Narrowboat on Amazon Prime.
We also went under a few bridges, one of which opened just as we went under it! Only downside is they drop you off at Lake Union so you have to trolley or Uber ($16) back to downtown.
The narration is informative and the 2 hours flew by. Lovely combination of Puget Sound and the houseboats in the bay. It was a bit cooler downstairs than in the covered section upstairs. Bring a hat if it’s sunny! Of course the day we went it was 100+ deg, during the 2021 Seattle heatwave!
