Fish District (Carmel Mountain Ranch)

The standout here is the fish. Always fresh and nice big portions. The salmon burger was good, but they should cut the piece so it is more bun shaped. A long crosscut piece with both ends sticking out of the bun is just too unwieldy to eat. And too much bun doesn’t have any fish.

Mr A got the swordfish with Sriracha sauce. Very fresh and delicious.

Much better fish than Fancy Fish and better plating. Looking forward to trying the tacos next time.

This is our last Monday night rehearsal before Marching Band championships. They’ve been practicing all Trimester and survived 10 grueling Tournaments (which are all day affairs) and made it into Champs by the skin of their teeth. 5 days from now they’ll be under those big stadium lights for the last time. And no more sneaking out to a grownup dinner for 2 while they’re at practice.

Go if: You are obsessed with fresh fish

Don’t go if: you are a Coke or Pepsi fan, they only have no-name sodas.
