Osteria Marco (Denver, CO)
– Cosy basement environs
– Great service
– Great wine – it was Italian, believe it was the Aia Vecchia Lagone ($12), it’s described as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon. A nice mild cabernet, not oaky, somewhat akin to the Daou Cabernet we’ve been drinking a lot of. We ordered one and ended up ordering a second.
– Truly outstanding food. The sauce on the sausage rigatoni was everything a tomato based sauce should be. Lots of fennel, not too acidic, well salted, mouth filling, perfect. Mr A could not stop raving about it. The prosciutto pizza was delicious. Ms S’s chicken was tender (she subbed pasta for the mashed).
We would absolutely not hesitate to eat here again!
