Tig Notaro, One Mississippi, and Star Trek Discovery

OK, I just want to say that I discovered Tig Notaro last year on Netflix thru her show One Mississippi. At first her slow way of talking drives you crazy but what it reflects is a deep confidence in herself, confidence that the audience is listening. And she is so authentic in what she says and does. It actually changes me when I watch her show.

Her 2015 Netflix show “Tig” explains her rise to fame as she used humor to rise above a crucible that would have crushed any other mere mortal: a life threatening CDiff infection, followed by the passing of her mother, followed by bilateral breast cancer.

Tig is starring in Star Trek Discovery and this little clip is a great introduction to how well her standup skills translate to the big screen.
