Anthony Bourdain RIP

Gone too soon, Tony. You were that cool older&wiser brother who went everywhere and did everything and dared you to do it too. You were way too young to die.

I really respected Anthony Bourdain for his intellect and writing ability. I read his books, watched his shows, we sought out Cacio e Pepe in Rome because of him.

Same for me. After business tripping thru Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and China I fell in love with that food. Spent endless hours trying to recreate Indian and Thai curries. In fact I still prefer traveling in that part of the world, prefer it even to Europe. I feel at home there.

Still looking for this new Hong Kong episode on CNN. CNN’s got the episodes all mislabeled this weekend.

Why then? Was Hong Kong your masterpiece, your swan song? Was life never to get better than that?
