Ivanpah Solar Power Facility

Interesting Wikipedia article describing this 400MW facility. Natural gas is used to power the plant thus this facility is a greenhouse gas producer; however the power output per unit of natural gas consumed is 4x higher than of traditional natural gas power plants.
Sadly, the intense reflections off the mirrors fry approximately 3500 birds annually.

Note also the 2 solar arrays nearby. One is across the freeway, at the upper left in the picture. I’m surprised the high desert isn’t completely covered on solar arrays by now.
