Blue Water Seafood (San Diego)

Finally we have found truly fresh fish in San Diego. And how did we find it? By watching Mark Wiens’ YouTube channel! We had to find out about this place from a guy who lives in Thailand!

At 615 on a Sunday night, the line was out the door. We waited a good 20-25 minutes just to place our order, but the waitstaff did a good job of allocating tables, letting us know during our order where we could sit.

The patio was warm and cozy (tho a bit loud from the traffic).

I ordered 3 Mexican jumbo shrimp as an appetizer, lemon garlic preparation. The marinade was a bit weak and the shrimp was a touch dry, but they were extremely fresh and meaty. Ms S tried these shrimp and has now decided that she likes shrimp!

Ms S ordered the chicken Tacos but was a bit surprised that the chicken was cut up chicken strips….

Mr A ordered the blackened Wahoo salad. A nice portion of fish. We all agreed the blackened preparation was delicious – including Ms S! Who is not a fish eater!

I ordered the lemon garlic Wahoo sandwich. This was pretty satisfying. The roll was soft and fresh, a good amount of tartar sauce, and the avocado was a nice touch. Again the fish was a touch dry, well cooked the American way. Many upscale restaurants now cook fish on the rare side for more moistness, but not this place. Still it was a very good sandwich and I’d definitely order it again.

But all this deliciousness comes at a price…
