Gin it up

I prefer drinking spirits straight. I don’t like sweet drinks or wasting empty calories on fillers. Same reason I like espresso, and also tequila. But it has to be Anejo – aged. Not that nasty Patron Silver which is the least aged “Blanco” type. In Mexico I adore drinking Tequila Bandera – a shot of Tequila (preferably Herradura Anejo) plus a shot of fresh lime juice and a shot of tomato-orange juice called Sangrita. Here’s a recipe – https://www.diffordsguide.com/cocktails/recipe/2273/bandera.

So when I ordered a shot of gin I automatically asked for lime on the side. But it didn’t really go together and the Tanqueray seemed watered down with a bunch of off flavors in it.

Oh to be in Mexico sipping on a Bandera…
